Welcome to LaTouche Pediatrics, LLC! Our goal is to provide you with the best in pediatric care. We are here to serve you and your children. In order to familiarize yourself with our practice, please take a few minutes to read through the following information.
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
LaTouche Pediatrics is a private pediatric medical group practicing pediatric and adolescent medicine. We provide excellent health care in a warm and professional setting.
At LaTouche Pediatrics, we strive to:
* Provide quality pediatric care.
* Respond to our patients' expectations and offer choice.

Informative.
* Be reliable by doing what we say we do- always.
Nurse AdviceYou may call for advice from a nurse in our office from 8AM to 4:30PM Monday through Friday. At other times, please see the information about After Hours.
After Hours
We encourage you to refer to our website first, when practical, before calling the office.
Please save routine questions (mild illness, appointments, prescription refills) for the morning. If you have medical questions that are not emergencies, you may also call the Nurses Help Line at Providence, at (907) 261-4900.
If you still have concerns that cannot wait until the next day, you may call our regular office number, (907) 562-2120 and follow the prompts to speak with a nurse who can address your concerns and fax us information about them in the morning.
Appointments
To help provide timely service to our patients, we prefer to schedule all visits. If you are late for your appointment, we will try to work you back into the schedule, or perhaps offer you an appointment with another provider. Out of courtesy to our other patients, we may ask you to reschedule your appointment.
We know your time is valuable. Despite our best efforts, we will sometimes run late. We will keep you informed so that you have the option of rescheduling your appointment or seeing another provider if available.
Sick Child Visits
We make every effort to schedule appointments for sick children on the day that you call us. Please call our office ahead of time so we can minimize the time that you will spend waiting. If you have a medical emergency during office hours, we will do our best to see your child immediately or refer you to the appropriate facility. If you would like us to see more than one child, please schedule both of them when you make the appointment.
Walk-Ins
In order to provide timely service to our patients, we prefer to schedule all visits.
We presently accept walk-ins between 8 AM and 9 AM at our Central location in the Providence Professional Building.
We will try to accommodate patients who walk in to either our Central location or our Southside location with a non-emergency condition, but they may be asked to return later when time allows.
Emergencies
Call 911 in an emergency. An emergency is any problem which is life-threatening or could lead to loss of limb or eyesight or other serious problem. Some examples are respiratory problems, bleeding, head injury, loss of consciousness or serious falls.
In the case of less serious problems (such as lacerations, possible broken bones, sprains, most fevers), please call our office first for advice. We will help you decide if and where your child needs to be seen.
Well Child Visits
We offer Well Baby Care and Health Maintenance Visits for all ages from newborns through young adults. These visits include immunizations and screening tests. We complete the forms needed for daycare, preschool, school, camp, foreign exchange programs, preoperative clearance, Special Olympics, and sports.
Since we see children through young adulthood, we do physicals and recommend and give the appropriate shots for students going to college as well as the younger Well Child Visits.
We appreciate it when parents schedule physical exams in advance. If they have not been planned ahead and are needed acutely, we try to make Sports Physical Exams available on a same day basis for children over 12 yrs old who have no other health issues. Sports forms can also be filled out during regular physical examinations.
Our suggested schedule for Well Child Visits is based on recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics:
Newborn, 2 Weeks, 2 Months, 4 Months, 6 Months, 9 Months, 12 Months, 15 Months, 18 Months, 2 Years, 3 Years, 4 Years, 5 Years, 6 Years, 8 Years, 10 Years, 12 Years, 13 Years, 14 Years, 15 Years, 16 Years, 18 Years.
Insurance
LaTouche Pediatrics, LLC accepts most insurance carriers. Please have your card with you at the time of your visit.
If we file your claim, you are responsible for the co-pay at the time of visit after your deductible has been met. If we are not a provider for your insurance, if you are not insured or if we do not file with your insurance company, you are responsible for the entire charge at the time of service.
Hospitals
If a member of your family requires hospitalization, we have privileges at:
- Alaska Regional Hospital
- Providence Alaska Medical Center, including The Children's Hospital at Providence, and the Discovery Unit
After the admission, please follow your insurance company requirements to reduce your risk of payment problems.
